Apollo Medivac - Original Concept LTI
Meet the RSI Apollo Medivac — a hardened combat search-and-rescue (CSAR) medical ship built to pull survivors out of the worst firefights. This armored Apollo variant upgrades survivability and firepower with enhanced missile racks, making it ideal for frontline medevac, rapid casualty extraction, and high-risk recovery ops. The 2948 Medivac edition also features a special livery inspired by the classic 2910 film Astromedics: Back from the Brink, recreating the iconic Kithara look.
Modular Medical Bay for Real Triage
The Apollo’s signature strength is medical modularity: two configurable medical rooms that can be tailored to your mission profile. Each module can support:
-
3x Tier 3 medical beds, or
-
2x Tier 2 medical beds, or
-
1x Tier 1 medical bed
for progressively higher levels of care, including Regeneration capabilities (Alpha 4.3.1). This makes the Apollo Medivac a flexible choice for everything from routine patient transport to critical stabilization under pressure.
Fast Access, Versatile Docking
Designed for quick loading and turnaround, the Apollo is accessible via an air-locking elevator with direct entry to the cockpit and habitation area, plus a rear ramp leading into an airlock. The aft airlock also functions as a telescopic docking collar, compatible with both small ship-to-ship collars and large station docking collars—perfect for rapid transfers, resupply, and coordinated fleet rescue operations.
Firepower and Survivability Built for Hot Zones
Unlike standard medical ships, the Apollo Medivac is ready to defend itself:
-
2x Size 4 forward-facing guns
-
Remote turret with 2x Size 3 guns
-
4 integrated missile racks, each holding 4x Size 2 missiles (up to 16 missiles total)
Add extra armor and fully interior-accessible components for easier maintenance and replacements, and you’ve got a ship purpose-built for extended operations where downtime is not an option.
Storage That Supports the Mission
The Apollo Medivac isn’t just a flying hospital—it’s a properly equipped response platform:
-
Crew habitation storage lockers above the beds (up to 450K µSCU per locker)
-
Cargo room weapons/utility racks for pistols, primary weapons, and tools
-
Medical room shelving for up to 30 Medgel canisters per room
-
Patient storage lockers per bed (up to 150K µSCU each)
-
Two cargo rooms with 16 SCU capacity each (32 SCU total)
